Jaleb Clovis will open the salon with his personal reading and interpretation of Søren Kierkegaard´s philosophy on the essence of being with the ultimate aim to spark a deep and thought-provoking conversation on what it means to be an individual and find ones place in the world.
Jaleb Clovis is a student in clinical psychology at the University of Bergen. Clovis has faced political persecution in his home country Burundi and arrived in Norway as a political refugee.
Questions of concern will include:
- Who am I?
- What is it that makes me an individual, distinct from others around me?
- How can I find the essence of my being?
- How I achieve acceptance and connectedness with the other individuals around me?
- Can I loose myself in my eagerness to be accepted by others ?
